My on-the-spot requests and modifications were accommodated with generosity. Care was taken to discuss with me the layout of new steps, among other things, and to ensure I was happy with the choice of materials. They worked round two acers and a hamamelis which remained in situ, and strengthened the existing fencing. They removed all the existing substructure, extensive rotting woodwork, gravel, overgrown hedging and planting some cherished items were potted and finally replanted.
